Ecobnb

Ecobnb is the meeting point for travelers looking to reduce their carbon footprint and hosts who are committed to a greener future. Founded in Italy, the platform was created to answer a growing demand for authentic, nature-immersed tourism that doesn't come at the expense of the planet. Unlike generalist travel sites where 'sustainability' can sometimes be just a label, Ecobnb requires its hosts to meet strict, verifiable standards. To be listed on Ecobnb, an accommodation must possess at least 5 out of 10 core sustainability requirements. These include the use of 100% renewable energy, serving organic or local food, employing green building techniques, using ecological cleaning products, and promoting car-free accessibility. This rigorous vetting process ensures that every booking directly supports businesses that are actively protecting the environment. The platform offers a diverse range of stays, from bio-hotels and organic farmhouses to treehouses and glamping sites in pristine natural locations. It emphasizes 'slow travel'—encouraging guests to discover hidden gems, travel by train or bike, and connect deeply with local communities. For hosts, Ecobnb offers a fair model with a choice between a low commission fee or a subscription-based membership, keeping more revenue in the local ecosystem compared to major global OTAs. By choosing Ecobnb, travelers are not just booking a room; they are voting for a travel industry that values ecology and authenticity over mass consumption.
